Experiment 8.0 testing report

I am happy to call this one a surprising success!
After straining batch 8.0 to remove most of the remaining Skittles (note: run future batches through a cheese cloth lined strainer, the fine mesh passed enough particles through that when mixed with Sprite formed an small but unappealing foam) I assembled the usual group of testers.

Mixing the base with a 2 liter of Sprite formed a very pleasantly flavored punch, if I do say so myself.  Subject one felt it tasted a bit too strongly of the Skittles, but he usually drinks far stronger stuff.  Myself and the other three subjects felt it produced a rather pleasing flavor.  Definitely a blend that works better when chilled, but even warm (the store we stopped at didn't have cold Sprite two liters) it was rather drinkable, and packed a nice hit to it.

I'm going to have to look at this one further.  I think the Everclear would be too potent for Jello shots or other food based applications, unless I was making in bulk.  Even at the heavy dilution you could still taste some of the Everclear alongside the Skittles, and there's enough sweet to the blend I would be concerned about combining with other sweet flavors to try and further soften it.

This is definitely one we are putting in the 'ready for parties' book, and I'm considering other add ins to further expand on things.  Look forward to more fun new ideas soon!
